Meet Your Hosts
Mike, a native of Stone Mountain (metro Atlanta), Georgia, is a retired professional chef / pastry chef / chef educator who, in addition to over twenty years’ work in the food industry, has spent the last several years conducting in-person, Facebook and YouTube cooking demonstrations. He also speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Italian.
Mike worked in the airline and travel industry right out of college for fifteen years, encompassing eight major airlines (six of which no longer exist) and several travel agencies. After airline number eight laid him off at age 35, he was ready for something different and enrolled in culinary school, going on to receive degrees in both Culinary and Pastry Arts.
A world traveler, Mike has always enjoyed getting to know about the local culture and cuisine wherever he happens to be, often recreating some of the dishes back at home. He would much rather go to a local produce market, winery or farm than hang out on a beach or go souvenir shopping.
Connie, owner of Connie George Travel Assoc.,has over 40 years of travel consultant experience having worked for small and international travel agencies before ultimately owning her travel agency.
Connie's passions for cruise and tour packages ultimately resulted in a decision to specialize in these two types of travel. She enjoys working one-on-one with individuals to build exceptional experiences that build memories. She also enjoys piecing together the puzzles that create unique cruise groups. She has extensive experience working with groups from ten to over 500 guests.
Her interests in working closely with individuals and creating unique cruise group experiences couple well to give clients the best experience. She believes in the importance of relationships with clients as well as feeling that lasting travel memories involve fellow travelers and the interactions with fellow travelers and the locals of the area being visited.
